“Salmon Stream” grew from my desire to look at these waters differently. Most depictions of fish place the current and stones around the subject. I wanted to shift that perspective and bring those elements inside the salmon itself. The movement of the water and the structure of the stream run through the body of the fish, creating a different way of seeing something familiar.
The colors move gently across the surface, and the textures settle into the form, allowing the fish and the environment to exist as one. That approach gives the piece a quiet rhythm and invites you to slow down and notice what is happening within it.
