Feast of the Hog

$1,300.00

Bring that split second of anticipation before a strike into your space, where everything feels still until it suddenly isn’t.

This piece captures the explosive energy of warmwater fishing, when a bass charges through the shallows and the surface breaks open in an instant. The layered textures and flashes of light create a sense of motion and urgency, adding movement and life to your space.

If you’ve ever watched the water erupt in a moment like that, you know how quickly everything changes.

With this piece, I wanted to push into new ideas and bring more light into the water. I added subtle glitter into the background and splashes to recreate that shimmer you see when a bass breaks the surface. I kept thinking about those moments when a bass chases down a smaller fish and everything erupts like a small burst of energy. That sense of motion and urgency drove the entire piece.

The mixed media layers allowed me to build depth in the water while focusing on the interaction between the bass and the sunfish. There is a moment of tension there, where you can almost feel the splash as the sunfish tries to escape.

It brings movement, tension, and life into your space, capturing the moments where everything feels still but ready.
