Cultivating The Future

$2,800.00

Bring the quiet sense of growth and renewal found in moving water into your space, where life begins small and unfolds with purpose.

This piece reflects the early stages of life beneath the surface, where eggs, fingerlings, and fish exist within a steady rhythm of change. Soft color transitions and layered forms create a calm, flowing presence, adding a sense of movement and quiet hope to your space.

If you have ever watched something grow over time, you understand how powerful those small beginnings can be.

This piece grew from my time teaching and running Trout in the Classroom with a partner teacher across the hall. We raised fertilized rainbow trout eggs from the Pennsylvania Game Commission and watched them develop into fingerlings that students later helped release into local cold water. The kids connected to every part of it. Some fish even jumped from the stock tank, and we kept a net over it, which always became a moment the class remembered.

Those experiences stayed with me and led me to create a piece that holds that sense of care, growth, and responsibility. I poured the background colors to echo the soft shifts found in a rainbow trout, allowing those tones to support the fish, the eggs, and the fingerling layered in watercolor and ink.

It brings a sense of calm, growth, and living water into your space, a quiet reminder of how small beginnings shape what comes next.
