Eye of Miami

$240.00

A lighthouse keeps watch over bright blue water, while small boats pass beneath a wide, cloud-filled sky. Eye of Miami is the first painting in Connected by Water, a collection inspired by the places and wildlife of the Florida Reef Tract.

Fowey Rocks Lighthouse, known as the “Eye of Miami,” was built between 1875 and 1878 off Key Biscayne. Standing 130 feet tall, it helped guide ships away from dangerous coral reefs that had caused many shipwrecks. Today, it marks the northern edge of the continuous coral barrier reef system that defines the Florida Reef Tract.

This small original brings a touch of coastal color to a shelf, desk, or gallery wall. It is part of a larger story about the waters and habitats that connect us.

  • Size: 6 × 6 inches

  • Medium: Mixed media, including acrylic on paper

  • Surface: Cradled wooden panel

  • Framing: Unframed, with wire attached for hanging
